SeBeGe Questionnaire - sexuality, relationships, and health
A fulfilled sexuality contributes significantly to psychological well-being and to general health. According to the World Health Organization, sexual health is defined as ‘a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being in relation to sexuality; it is not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or infirmity’ (WHO, 2006). Its determinants and possible approaches for interventions are the subject of current sexual research.
Sexual arousal, desire, needs, and behaviour related to sexuality are very diverse, and their interactions are complex. The embodiment perspective assumes that how the body is used in sexuality determines the experience. The perspective’s theoretical basis is the Sexocorporel model, developed by Jean-Yves Desjardins at the Département de séxologie of the University of Québec.
The aim of this study is to investigate the interaction of psychological, physical, and social resources in sexuality and their significance for health and well-being.
Participation
The survey was completed in June 2019 after one year of operation. In total, 1,100 people between the ages of 18 and 77 years completed the questionnaire. A first result report is available with a description of the data collected.
